NHRI signs MOU with National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center

A group led by President Kung-Yee Liang visited the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) on 9th April, 2018. Dr. Shangjr Gwo, Director of the NSRRC welcomed President Liang and the delegation with an overview of the NSRRC, followed by a visit to the Taiwan photon source experimental facilities.

The NHRI team was highly impressed by the applications of photon source in biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry and bio-imaging research. NHRI signed a memorandum of understanding with the NSRRC at the end of the visit to foster close collaborations between both organizations.

NSRRC currently operates two synchrotron light sources, named Taiwan light source (TLS) and Taiwan photon source (TPS), respectively. TLS is the first third-generation synchrotron light source facility built in Asia and the third globally while TPS offers one of the world’s brightest synchrotron x-ray sources, provide cutting-edge experimental facilities and novel multidisciplinary scientific research opportunities.
