NHRI receives visitors from the Kingdom of eSwatini

An 8-member delegation from the Kingdom of eSwatini, formerly known as the Kingdom of Swaziland visited NHRI on July 19th, 2018 as part of their oncology specialist training program organized by Taipei Medical University under Taiwan’s medical mission. The group of doctors, nurses, radiographers and laboratory technicians aims to receive proper specialist training and gain experience by visiting relevant research institutes and hospitals in Taiwan during their training program to help improve their health care system in oncology.

The team was welcomed by Drs. Hui-Ju Ch’ang and Wun-Shaing Wayne Chang from the National Institute of Cancer Research, and Mr. Bryan Wei, Acting Chief of Secretariat on behalf of NHRI.

Dr. Ch’ang briefed the team on the overview of the National Institute of Cancer research and research highlights, followed by site tours to Zebrafish Core Facility and Laboratory Animal Center, which was recently re-accredited by AAALAC International in March, 2018. The team was impressed by the management of animal use for research at NHRI and advanced laboratory equipment demonstrated by Dr. Chang. The visitors thanked the hosts for the warm reception and expressed wish to collaborate in the near future.
